TV, the Quintessential Entertainment Form
Universal Mc Cann Argentina Research Department has released a report which analyzes people’s attitudes towards media use, to understand the main reasons which motivate them to consume a particular system.

According to the report, TV, apart from being the most viewed media, is the number one entertainment form for both men and women. Radio, in addition to giving updated information (news) and entertainment (music), is considered as “company” since it gives the possibility of being present while other activities are performed at the same time. Newspapers, on their part, are the most used as information sources and are predominantly chosen by the male segment. And magazines, with a more feminine profile, are ideal for entertainment and by disclosing the latest social news are read to learn about show biz “gossip.”
The fastest media growth over the last few years is the Internet, gaining ground as information source, entertainment and personalized searches. Online searches have become favourites among the population, with increments in every variable over the last five years, highlighting its value as a means of “taking a break from habitual tasks” and also “to kill time.”
