Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic (DLA/USH) announced the designation of Carolina Angarita as Country Manager for Colombia with immediate effects, directly designating as president of the company Fernando Medin.
“Carolina has a long carrier and knowledge in the industry of television that, no wonder, will allow her manage with solvency and make the business of Discovery grow in Colombia”, said Medin. “Also, her experience in the digital world is an important addition to performing the new ways to consume the content. Thus, I am very excited about having her support to develop the digital strategy of Discovery for all the region of Latin America and US Hispanic”.
In her new position, for which she will be in the offices of the company in Bogota, the executive will be responsible for all the commercial and operating activities of Discovery in Colombia, including: distribution, advertising sales, programming, marketing, investigation, digital, communications, development of product consumption and license concession. She will also be responsible for the development of the new corporative initiatives and the commercial opportunities for the different areas of the business in the local market.
Before being incorporated to Discovery, Angarita worked as a CEO at Google Colombia leading a team of strategy advisers in digital transformation to reach the commercial goals through the use of data, insights, and the functionalities of the platforms of Google such as Google.com, YouTube, Google Display Network, DoubleClick and Gmail. Previously, she was the president of Zyvei Group, which includes 12 companies of innovation with gross earnings of US$ 23 millions in 2014. Before this position, she was in charge of Ennovva, a digital advertising company and business incubator ranked Colombia number one agency in terms of revenues, it also spread out internationally. Her professional history also includes 11 years of experience in means of communication. The manager was also VP of Programming and Marketing at RCN Television; besides, she was associated to the informative CM&, where she was Head of public order reporters and journalists in London.
Born in Colombia, Angarita obtained a degree in Communication and Journalism at Universidad Javeriana of Colombia and a master in International Journalism at the University of Westminster of London.
